Volunteering project reading: promoting children and promoting civic engagement

We introduce kindergarten children to books at an early stage in order to promote their language and reading skills. This also motivates parents to read more to their children.

Volunteers visit the daycare centers at regular intervals to read aloud to the children and are involved in various events at the respective day care center (summer parties, reading afternoons or nights, sugar bag festival, etc.).

In addition, book cases with age-appropriate books for 2-3 year olds, 3-4 year olds and 5-6 year olds migrate into the families of the children. The children take the suitcase with books and language-promoting suggestions home on Friday and bring it with the entire contents for the next child on the following Friday.
