In August 2017 it was: The musician Giuseppe Sciaratta asked us whether he
could organize a concert with a very well-known musician in the Budde House,
sie wäre gerade in der Nähe beim Yiddish Summer Weimar, es wäre eine tolle Gelegenheit, … Das Konzert fand statt. Die Musikerin war Polina Shepherd. Rund sieben Jahre später ist sie am 5. April 2024 zum fünften Mal bei uns zu Gast. Denn ihr damaliges Konzert war der Beginn unserer Veranstaltungsreihe „Klezmer with friends“. Fast fünfzig Konzerte und Tanzabende gab es bisher mit regionalen, nationalen und internationale Musiker*innen. Vorwiegend aus dem vielseitigen Repertoire der modernen und traditionellen jiddischen Musik. Aber auch anderer Stile, wie die osteuropäische und orientalische Musik.

Why are we telling this? Because the example shows how small moments can develop into something bigger. And it was the same with other of our event series. Some of them will be available again in April.
